Bella Thorne’s First Playboy Photoshoot Is A Sexy Tribute To David Bowie, The Ultimate Rebel Rebel

Every night, when I leave the BroBible office, I walk past the building where David Bowie used to live in lower Manhattan. A brutal reminder of our own mortality, walking up Lafayette Street past his apartment building makes me so damn sad such an iconoclast in music and art and life is no longer creating and roaming the planet.

Bowie’s music touched the lives of millions, even those growing up outside his generation. Case in point, 19-year-old millennial Snapchat sweetheart Bella Thorne, who needs no introduction here at BroBible. She’s appearing in her first every issue of Playboy (fully clothed ’cause Playboy doesn’t do #nudes these days) and the pics are a tribute to David Bowie, rock god. There’s a great quote from Bella in the article that knocks it out of the ballpark:

“People often don’t want to get to know the real you; they only want to get to know the person they think you are. For me, that means people are constantly trying to change me, every second of the day, especially on social media. I’m not fed up with social media—I understand it—but people like to comment on how my image is too edgy, that I’m too edgy, and on how they wish I looked. It’s a lot of ‘do this, don’t do that.’ To them I say, fuck off. There’s this effort to try to shame a woman’s sexiness by pulling a cover over it, but I’m a woman who loves skin. I love skin on me, I love skin on girls, I love skin on guys. If you’re confident enough to show off your body, you should. Be confident.

Preach, girl. Preach. Now I’m going to listen to the album Heroes and just chill.

Here’s the pics:
