Your Smoking Hot New Miss World 2014 Is Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss
122 contestants came, but only one woman left with the title of Miss World 2014 and that woman is Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss.
Strauss, a 22 year-old fourth-year medical student, became the first woman from South Africa to win the Miss World crown in more than 55 years, according to E! News. She takes over the title from 2013 Miss World Megan Young of the Philippines.
Edina Kulcsar of Hungary came in second, while Miss North Carolina, aka Miss USA Elizabeth Safrit, took home third place in the pageant. Courtney Thorpe of Australia and Carina Tyrrell of England rounded out the top five.Embed from Getty Images
What a fun filled day full of rehearsals and dancing. Looking forward to the final show on the 14th! We have a debating challenge tomorrow - can't wait to hear all the ladies' different views. In South Africa we are privileged to have the freedom of expression. We have learnt to take responsibility for our words and also respect the views of others. #ProudlySouthAfrican Photo credit - @jacquesdpsa
