Houston Astros prospect Delino DeShields Jr. was taken to hospital on Friday night after being hit in the head by a pitch. While DeShields was able to walk off the field on his own, he suffered a horrific injury. In the seventh inning the second baseman for the Corpus Christi Hooks took a 90 mph fastball to the right side of his face by Frisco RoughRiders (Texas Rangers Double-A team) pitcher Phil Klein. The top-100 prospect and son of former Major League Baseball player Delino DeShields appeared to be getting a big head from the situation.

Did the ball actually go into his skull? I really hope for Delino’s sake that they already took the team photo.
