Bill Simmons frustrated with ESPN, lets loose on Twitter

Bill Simmons let loose on his employer, ESPN, in the wee hours of the morning following Game 4. At issue was a joke Simmons used that was edited out on SportsCenter.

It appears Simmons’ days on NBA Countdown are numbered. The show never really caught on with viewers, lacking the spontaneity and humor of its rival Inside the NBA on TNT. Frankly, Simmons is better off focusing on Grantland and the 30 for 30 series, both of which are excellent extensions of the ESPN brand.

As to whether he’ll get suspended for his harsh remarks? I highly doubt it. The man is an untouchable there. He could take a steaming dump on the SportsCenter desk and slap Chris Berman with his dong and they couldn’t/wouldn’t do a damn thing about it.

If only we could all reach that level of comfort in our own jobs.
