Brewers CF Carlos Gomez enjoyed a first inning home run for a bit too long, then taunted the entire Braves team as he rounded the bases. It led to an ugly confrontation at home plate and even uglier bench clearing brawl.
Apparently Gomez and Maholm have some history together. Maholm has beaned him twice in the past. Before tonight’s at-bat, Gomez gave him the evil eye.

Despite not touching home plate, the umps awarded the Brewers a run, calling obstruction on McCann. He was ejected along with Gomez and 1B Freddie Freeman. All in all, an ugly incident for baseball and an ugly incident for Gomez, who clearly needs to go back on his meds.
