Chipotle’s ‘The Scarecrow’ commercial calls out fast-food

Chipotle makes a grand over-arching statement about the fast-food industry in their newest ad, “The Scarecrow.” It’s essentially that everyone’s food is a lie, and you’re a terrible person for eating it, so come to Chipotle instead.

Do you see what you’ve done, America? This is what happens when you shut down real farms. Scarecrows are forced to work for their nemesis, the crows, while listening to the song from Willy Wonka. Beyond the dumb jokes, it’s a beautiful commercial. Chipotle prides itself on high standards for food and its production to the point where they put unnecessary facts all over their cups. They’re also upfront about it when something isn’t up to par or the the tomatoes aren’t their usual ones. The commercial is meant to illustrate how that’s not the case for the rest of the fast-food industry. Oh, and it’s an ad for a game app.

Look at Chipotle, so fancy. They’re getting into the gaming business now apparently too. It’s a clever move to create a playable commercial. I haven’t downloaded it yet, but I’m sure I will at some point because I love running around factories as a scarecrow. It’s just a hobby of mine.
