The Pistons unveil new Motor City uniforms

The Detroit Pistons unveiled new Motor City uniforms, a jersey they’ll wear during Sunday home games.

They’re pretty fresh, though I admit my bias as a Pistons slappy.

The Pistons will make a push for the playoffs this year and should, barring injury, grab the 7th or 8th spot. They’re athletic enough to compete with most teams. Their problem will be shot selection. Brandon Jennings is notorious for taking ill advised shots. Josh Smith as well.

But they have a star in Andre Drummond, a star Pistons fans will come out to see. That’s the hope. That’s why they’re doing this Motor City Sunday thing, to bring the fans back.

Last year, the Pistons struggled in attendance, 28th out of 30 teams. There were games where there were less than 2,000 people in the stands. One time, I counted six empty sections from my seats.

It was awful.

Maybe this brings the fans back, maybe it doesn’t. I applaud their effort regardless.
