This isn’t the kind of trafficking that you sit in for a half an hour on the way to work. One of the more universally-praised movies that showed at SXSW this year was Eden, a grim drama about a Korean-American teenager who is kidnapped and forced into a life of prostitution. It’s actually based on the true story of a woman in the 90s who went through a similar ordeal, which is pretty terrifying. The lead is played by former MTV Real World star Jamie Chung, who is winning raves for her surprisingly nuanced performance. Eden opens on March 20th.
