Does this look like the face of a man who just lost millions?

Joel Embiid was supposed to be the top pick in next week’s NBA draft, he was supposed to be the guy the Cavs built their frontcourt around, he was supposed to be THEE guy of the 2014 rookie class.

Instead he’s taking surgery selfies. Does this look like the face of a man who just lost millions?

And then Embiid’s people dropped this nugget today:

“Any team that doesn’t take him is going to be [screwed] because he’s going to be great,” the source said. “He’s going to be great. He’s more talented and he can do more for a team than those other guys can do. He’s special. The dude is special. He’s had injuries, but he’s a stud. He’s an absolute stud. He will have more of an impact on an NBA game than any of the other guys in the draft — any of them.”

The stress fracture that Embiid suffered is the same injury that forced Yao Ming and Bill Walton into retirement. Sure there have been others who recovered, Michael Jordan most notably, but still, this is a cause for concern. A grave cause for concern.

I wouldn’t touch the guy personally and if I’m the Cavs, I’m taking Wiggins without a second thought.
