Mo’ne Davis autographed balls going for $500 a pop on eBay

Someone is making a ton of loot off Mo’ne Davis autographed balls on eBay. I’m shocked it took this long.

According to NJ.com, at least twenty-six autographed baseballs, allegedly signed by female phenom Mo’Ne Davis, were in the last few days. One ball went for $510.

Two balls, both with zero bids, are going for $450 and $350.

There is no proof that Davis herself signed the balls but if she finally does sit down and put her Jane Handcock on some baseball gear, she could make a boatload of dough.

Brandon Steiner, owner of New York memorabilia company Steiner Sports, told USA Today that he’d pay Davis at least $25,000 to autograph between 500 to 1,000 items and the 13-year-old “could make up to $100,000 on the deal.” Steiner, however, said he’d be hesitant to make such an offer since it could jeopardize her amateur status and affect her NCAA eligibility.

“I think it’s ridiculous. That’s absurd,” said Steve Keener, CEO of Little League Inc., which hosts the World Series in Williamsport, Pa. “(But) I don’t know how you would ever control it.

I’m sure Little League will figure out a way to make more money off the children. It will be good for the kids. It will get them ready for the NCAA.
