Just because you can’t understand the narrator doesn’t make this any less awesome. You can throw me into the haters camp that didn’t understand why anybody would make a Lone Ranger movie in 2013. The character literally has absolutely no name recognition in a post-Bieber era, and the whole thing seemed like John Carter par two. Well, I’m still tentative but this new international trailer (with Japanese voiceover) has me sold a little more. Yes, Johnny Depp’s bird hat still looks ridiculous but the Gore Verbinski-directed Western looks to have lots of things I like: daring stunts, concealed weaponry and huge explosions. The Lone Ranger opens on July 3rd.
