Bizarre obstruction call gives St. Louis Cardinals Game 3 win

The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Boston Red Sox with a bizarre obstruction call at third base. Allen Craig was awarded a run when Will Middlebrooks couldn’t (didn’t) get out of the way.

It was umpire Jim Joyce who pulled the trigger at third base. He’s the same ump who screwed Tigers’ pitcher Armando Galarraga at the end of a perfect game. He’ll undoubtedly get scrutinized for this, but after several replays it appears to be the right call.

Ugly win to end a game but yes, the right call.
