Oxford dictionary adds words to database that have no business being in the dictionary

With each passing year, the Oxford dictionary is looking more like the Urban Dictionary.

The Oxford editors are at it again in 2014, adding words that rarely come up in conversation between people over the age of twelve.

This year’s inductees include: Bro hug, amazeballs, hyperconnected, hot mess, YOLO, FML, side boob, cray, clickbait, second screen, live-tweet, throw shade and ICYMI.

Now, these terms won’t be found in the hardcover version of the dictionary. In fact, I’m not even sure where to find a hardcover copy of a dictionary. These words are only added to the database.

SMH. I’m sure that’s in there as well.
