Roger Goodell and his band of stooges kept the Pittsburgh Steelers from making the playoffs yesterday. Just flat out buffoonery from the officials in the Chargers-Chiefs game.
There were two egregious mistakes, one an obvious oversight, the other a bad judgement call.
The first took place at the end of regulation when the Chiefs lined up for a game-winning field goal. The Chargers shifted 7 men over to one side of center, a no-no in the NFL rulebook. One ref was on top of the play, didn’t make the call.
Like, seriously, what’s he doing? Is he peeing? Is he daydreaming? Cause he certainly isn’t counting. Moron.
The Chiefs missed that FG, sending the game into overtime. Pittsburgh still had a chance, just needed Kansas City to push through in the extra frame.
And that’s when this happened.
Referees determined that forward progress had been stopped before the fumble. This despite no whistle. Ref Bill Leavy didn’t provide an explanation to the crowd. Fox officiating guru Mike Pereira weighed in.
Replay did not stop the game because the ruling of forward progress is not reviewable. Should have been a strip and TD in my opinion.

So Bill Leavy’s getting fired right? I mean, coaches lose their job on Black Monday, why not officials? And yes, I’m absolutely serious. There needs to be accountability for this kind of garbage.
We made a big stink about the replacement refs last year. We whined and complained and said the integrity of the game was on the line. Well, um, the Steelers are sitting at home out of the playoff hunt? How’s that for integrity?
