Rickie Fowler honors Payne Stewart with vintage outfit at U.S. Open

Rickie Fowler is your early leader at the U.S. Open and it has nothing to do with the score. Fowler busted out a pair of knickers and argyle socks in tribute to Payne Stewart, who famously won at Pinehurst in 1999. Here it is courtesy of the Golf Channel.

In 1999, four months after his U.S. Open victory, Payne Stewart was killed in a plane crash. He won 11 times on the PGA tour, including three major championships (’89 PGA Championship, ’91 and ’99 U.S. Open).
