What’s hot this week in men’s fashion, gadgets, and gear

This weekly feature is a round-up, in conjunction with our friend Tim over at Cool Material, of the hot new products appearing online this week. From fashion tips to cool gadgets and gear, take a look at your new obsessions.

v23next

Titanium Multi-Tool
What does the multi-tool do? It’s a pry bar, flathead screwdriver, bit driver, paint can opener, scraper, can opener, bottle opener and it includes four slots that function as open wrenches for common imperial (there’s a metric version, too) bolt sizes. The six holes surrounding the middle are for more than looking like the Galactic Empire logo, they can be used to attach a paracord or leather lanyard for easy removal from your pocket. Oh yeah, and it comes in four different finishes, along with lanyard options.

Drilling Lab

Pipe Clamp Rings
Using what basically amounts to two different kinds of pipe clamps as inspiration, Drilling Lab created two separate Clamp Series rings that bring some much needed form to the already functional idea. Type A is two separate pieces (available in matte black, gold and silver, so you can mix and match) joined with an enclosed hex screw. Type B is a single piece ring available in the same materials with a visible hex screw–that also happens to be adjustable with your fingers. Either one is a step in the right direction for manly rings, but they’re not available for purchase in the US… yet.

Ugmonk

Ugmonk All Black Collection
The latest collection from Ugmonk is devoid of color. Forget all the bright shades of summer, the shirts and accessories in the Black Series from the line are all grim yet stylish. Choose from the individual tees, sweatshirt, hat, card cases, or mouse pad, or simply opt to buy the whole collection and change the entire hue of your vibe. The site even gives you an idea of how many pieces in each size are left, so you can know when to act. Ditch the pastel shorts and neon t-shirt, and change up your wardrobe.

Cool Material Shop

Pelican Clip
The simple design of the Pelican Clip makes it an unassuming but useful addition to your everyday carry. Constructed out of stainless steel, the clip is perfect for suspending your keys or other accessories right from one of your belt loops. Use it to have your pocket flashlight nearby, a knife at the ready, or just so you don’t have to dig through your bag for your keys.

Hard Graft

Vertical Dopp Kit
While most dopp kits handle razors, contact lens cases, and other dry goods just fine, they don’t leave you feeling too good about that bottle of shampoo or shaving cream resting on its side. The horizontal design was ditched by Hard Graft for a more vertical approach more suited for things that stand upright. As with all the goods from Hard Graft, the Refresh Dopp Kit is made from premium vegetable tanned Italian leather and 100% wool and wool felt. You’ll obviously pay a premium for this kind of quality and craftsmanship (to the tune of $269), but as the owners of a few pieces from Hard Graft, we can tell you, you’ll be extremely pleased with the purchase.

New Balance

New Balance MS620 in Black and Navy
New Balance has been killing it with the classic sneaker refreshes they’ve been doing recently, and these MS620s are no different. Between super-soft suede uppers, padded ankle collars, breathable insets made of mesh and the stark navy and black colorways that are now available, these kicks from New Balance might be the perfect addition to your collection. Even if the only running you’re doing is to the store at the corner, these “running shoes” will most definitely do the job.

Zoku

Zoku Iced Coffee Maker
Brewing a pot of coffee and waiting for it to come down to room temperature so you can drop a few ice cubes in it is an incredibly painful way to get your iced coffee fix. When a caffeinated jolt is needed on a hot day, you want a method a tad faster. The Zoku Iced Coffee Maker is a simple solution. Just pre-chill the mug, pour your fresh brew in, slip on the insulating sleeve, and you have iced coffee without any cubes diluting it. Since it chills your drink in minutes, you don’t have to walk around like a zombie waiting for the right temp to come about.

Winter Session

The Log Tote
With the good looks of an open-air weekender, the Winters Session + CampWell Log Tote is just about the most dapper way to carry around some firewood. Constructed from durable 18 oz waxed cotton canvas, you can rest assured jagged branches won’t lay waste to your tote. Each sports vegetable tanned, undyed leather handles and is hand-sewn using waxed thread. Of course, bringing in your latest collection of fire fodder isn’t the only thing the tote is good for, with interior pockets for your keys and other small goods, the Log Tote is also perfect for a beach day or other excursion. Handmade in Colorado and secured with antiqued brass rivets, it looks a lot better than trying to balance a pile of wood on your forearms.
