Here are the 100 Smartest Towns in the U.S.

By pulling data from more than 3 million people who've played their brain-training games, the company claims to have measured the overall cognitive abilities of each city's population. And, obviously, this isn't a great metric—you're not taking into account graduation levels? or polling people who haven't played your games?—but it does provide a cool and highly unreliable look at where the brainiacs head after graduation.

Not far, it turns out. College towns dominate the list, which isn't that surprising—a large population of post-grads and researchers, for instance, ensures Cornell-dominated Ithaca is at the top, followed by the Penn State-dominated State College. I was surprised, though, to see places like San Francisco or Palo Alto nowhere to be found. Have you been to San Francisco? The entire city exists to pretend to be smarter than you.
