Yesterday we told you about how Anonymous doxxed Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump. Now the Secret Service is looking into the matter along with the FBI. According to TIME:
“The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the Internet postings of Candidate Donald Trump’s personal information,” a spokesperson for the Secret Service confirmed to TIME. “We are working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in this matter.”
But now questions are being raise of just how “secret” or accurate the information Anonymous released on Trump yesterday actually is. Via The Independent:
But that information — which includes what is claimed to be Mr Trump’s social security number, as well as publicly-available details like the contact details of his agent — has been available online for months. A search for the information on Twitter shows it being shared as far back as January.
Hmmmm…. So did Anonymous “hack” Donald Trump or not? Or is the Secret Service simply investigating just because of their threatening video?
