I hate to say it, but it was only a matter of time before an urban adrenaline junkie strapped on a GoPro and decided to jump off New York City’s iconic new skyscraper, the Freedom Tower. This evening a POV video started circulating on the Internet of a B.A.S.E. Jump from the Freedom Tower at 3 a.m. on September 30, 2013. It just hit the Internet today.
This anticipation leading up to the jump off the highest building in the Northern Hemisphere will give you sweaty palms and anxiety. Around the 2:30, one jumper leaps before the guy with this camera on. Then our guy jumps off the ledge of the WTC One, freefalling towards the street like a CGI sequence in a Gotham superhero movie. By the time the parachute opens, you’ll probably be breathing a little heavier than you were when you opened this link. They touchdown by the Goldman Sachs building, leading the public to believe they’re the same daredevils from an incident that was wildly reported last fall.
Insane. I’m sure we’ll hear a lot about this over the next few days.
