A Billionaire CEO Shared His 5 Favorite Job Interview Questions And Jesus Are They Hard

“You don’t know what Uproxx is?” was one of the more incredulously asked questions I got from JCamm during my initial interview with BroBible, as Uproxx and BroBible are owned by the same company. “Did you do any research before walking in here?”

And while THAT particular interview was a complete fucking nightmare, had JCamm asked me any of the questions that Drew Houston, the 33-year-old billionaire founder of Dropbox asks, well I would’ve been in even worse shape (as impossible as that sounds). Speaking to The New York Times, Houston said these are his favorite questions to ask:

1. Who is the best in the world at what you do?
2. Who are your influences?
3. What have you learned in the last year?
4. If you were able to sit yourself down 10 years ago, what advice would you give your younger self?
5. What are the most important lessons you’ve taken away?

Are those super hard to answer? In general, no – but my main concern would be answering them in the wrong way. Sitting in the interview, second-guessing my answers when really, all of the answers vary from person to person. Explaining why he favors those questions, Houston said “I’m drawn to people who really love their craft, and treat it like a craft, and are always trying to be better and are obsessed with what separates great from good.”

And just in case you’re feeling ambitious and want to try cleaning up your interview skills, Facebook’s favorite question, just like the ones posed above, also has more meaning behind it than you’d expect.
