Chipotle’s Twitter was hacked late last night by a bunch of trolls who turned it into a Nazi page. They spit out all sorts of vile, offensive hate speech and turned the restaurant chain’s avatar to swastikas, causing quite the Internet shit storm. It still blows my mind that a huge company worth billions and billions of dollars leaves its social media in the hands of people who don’t have the sense of establishing two-step verification on the account. Trolls are gonna troll, but you can always make their lives much more difficult with taking account security seriously.
ANYWAY, this exchange happened last night between one of the Chipotle account mods after the hack. It’s maybe the least self-aware thing I’ve ever witnessed. Like, Joe, how did you not see that your avatar is a Nazi swastika and not the beloved Chipotle symbol?
All will be forgiven if you no longer make the guac extra. Even if just for a day.
