David Beckham Reveals The Hangover Cure That’s Been In His Family For Generations, Consisting Of Only Two Ingredients
The best way to avoid a hangover is to drink in moderation. Lol. Ok, dude. The people who drink in moderation are the same people who read the Terms and Conditions before entering a porn site. Not for me.
Anyway, for those of you who have a voracious alcohol dependency and have no concrete plans of stopping, allow one of the most beloved soccer players of all-time to chime in on his familial remedy. David Beckham is now 41 and retired, but most of his life he needed to push his body to the test regardless of how much fun he had the night before.
According to an interview with GQ,
Beckham’s personal hangover cure is to take an Alka Seltzer tablet before bed and to devour a bacon sandwich in the morning. “My granddad told me to do that.”
Alka-Seltzer contains sodium bicarbonate (aka baking soda), which helps settle a queasy belly by neutralizing stomach acid. It has been such a fail-safe for drunks that in 2001, the company even introduced a Morning Relief formulation specifically for hangovers.
Carbs, grease and animal fat is the ultimate combatant against those pesky hangover ailments and just flat out fucking delicious.
World renowned chef Anthony Bourdain’s hangover cure is a bit more nuanced:
- Cold Coca Cola
- Spicy Szechuan food
Gotta side with Anthony on this one: weed is essential.
