A Doberman in India is being hailed as a hero dog after taking on four mountain cobras in the village of Sebekapur.
Unfortunately, after killing all four of the cobras (fuck ya!), he died from the repeated poisonous bites he incurred (fuck no!).
The dog was guarding the entrance to the house of Dibakar Raita, when it spotted cobras trying to go inside. During monsoon season, snakes often try to take refugee on higher grounds.
There, the dog and the snakes duked it out. It killed all four in a fight that onlookers said went on for awhile.
The owner of the Doberman, Dibikar, who had only gotten the dog months ago, was distraught.
From the Deccan Chronicle:
“I’m shocked. He has made the supreme sacrifice for me and my family. I will remember him till our death. I pray God – May his soul rest in peace,” said an emotionally overpowered Dibakar.
The dog is already being hailed as a hero by the villagers.
Hundreds of people of nearby areas rushed to the village as the news spread. The villagers laid floral wreaths on the body of the slain dog and held a funeral procession before burying it.
