Here Are The Fines You’ll Pay For Public Urination In Cities Around The World

Sometimes you’ve just got to go. You just can’t hold it until the next rest stop or gas station or, well, until you get home from the bar. (That last one’s the one we’re probably most focused on here.)

As one of my co-workers here put it, “My go to was walking while peeing. Very difficult to tell what you were doing from 50ft distance in the dark. I won’t say that I never pissed on myself doing it. But I never paid a fine either.”

Sage words of advice indeed.

That being said, if you do find yourself in a sticky situation where you simply can’t hold it anymore, the smart folks over at Hopes & Fears have gathered up a list of fines in various cities around the world for public urination. They’re really doing the Lord’s work over there. God bless ’em.

Let’s start with the most expensive fines and work our way forward…

11. Brussels, Belgium – $360
10. Queensland, Australia – $228 to $455
9. Madison, Wisconsin – $187
8. Dubai, United Arab Emirates – $136
7. Seattle, Washington – $125
6. Brighton, England – $124
5. New York, New York – $50
4. Paris, France – $38.63
3. Manila, Philippines – $11.07
2. New Delhi, India – $1.58
1. Berlin, Germany – $0.00

So now we know where to publicly urinate and where to hold it until our bladder bursts. Solid info right there.

I’m willing bet some of you out there have been caught peeing where you shouldn’t have been at some point. What was your fine? Did it beat Brussels? Bro’s need to know.

For MUCH MORE on this topic, including the reasons why some places are more forgiving than others, as well as a “Bonus Pee Crackdown” that doesn’t involve a fine, do head over to Hopes & Fears.
