Firefighter Climbs 110 Stories In Full Gear On A Stairmaster At Planet Fitness To Honor Fallen 9/11 Colleagues

33-year-old Jason Harding, a firefighter from Tennessee, was photographed climbing 110 stories in full firefighting gear at a Maryville Planet Fitness this past Sunday. Unable to attend the National Stair Climb that’s held every year, Harding chose to do the climb by himself since he wanted to be involved regardless:

Harding, however, came forward to state that he “was not looking for any self-recognition” after he saw that his photo had gone viral. “When I went to the gym this morning at 6 a.m. before coming onto shift I was only wanting to honor the fallen heroes and their families on this day 15 years ago,” he wrote.” I was not and am still not looking for any self-recognition.”
