The service at the post office sucks and there’s nothing you can do about it. This isn’t a situation where your first amendment rights to petition the government for a redress of grievances is gonna get you anywhere.
HB Shea understands that, and decided this week to take matters into his hand. When you are 90 years old, why not go to jail for a cause? Especially one that could benefit so many people. From The Palm Beach Post (yes, this happened in Florida):
On Monday evening, Shea went to the counter at the post office off of Via Ancho Road, just west of Florida’s Turnpike and south of Glades Road, and asked if he could fill out a form for him. The employee declined, so Shea screamed at the employee and left, according to the report. Moments later Shea was back, but this time with a handgun, according to PBSO.
The 90-year-old man slammed the pistol on the counter and told the employee that he would, “blow his head off,” deputies said.
That’s a man who wants to make a difference in the world. Although a less menacing way would have been to lodge a complaint with the person’s supervisor. If we all do that, maybe we can affect some real change.
According to the PBP, Shea was charged with “aggravated assault with a firearm, improper display of a firearm, and a violation of concealed firearm permit.”
