Say what you will about the American system of democracy — it’s inherently intransigent, it locks leaders into a perpetual campaign, it’s actually undemocratic as fuck — you can’t deny that it’s one of the few governments in the world that allows for the peaceful transition of power to between different parties.

Other parties don’t need to stage coups to get their way, and that’s good, I guess.
