Groom Busted After High Speed Chase In ‘Just Married’ Car And Every Guy Can Relate To His Excuse To The Cops

There are two reasons for speeding — either you’re in a hurry and don’t give a crap about speed limits or you’re just not paying attention to the speedometer. A groom in Tennessee was speeding because he had a lot on his mind. A lot.

Authorities saw Michael Smith’s Chevrolet Equinox, with the words “Just Married” written on the rear window, swerving in and out of lanes on Interstate 40 near Mt. Juliet at 9:30 p.m. last Thursday.

Police chased the car, but he evaded arrest for around 20 miles, hitting crash guard rails and concrete barriers. He eventually pulled over at a Nashville restaurant parking lot and gave himself up.

Smith gave the cops a valid (at least to me) reason for speeding. “He made statements to the officers that he had ‘just got married and was trying to process everything’ and ‘just had a life crisis and a lot on his mind,'”

I hear you, bro. Marriage is tough to process but YOU SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU GOT MARRIED.

Here’s footage of the chase from Mt. Juliet Police Department.

White was alone in the car and it’s unclear whether he got married prior to that day or if was fleeing from his own celebrations.
