Have you ever wondered “Gee, I wish there was a way for me to look back at all the embarrassing shit I did on Facebook back when I was 14. Man oh man were those the good ol’ years – the bad haircut, the fact I had no friends, the extra 15 pounds I was carrying in my thighs – how will I ever possibly relive that?”
Well GOOD NEWS FOR YOU, because there actually IS a way of downloading every single thing you’ve ever done on Facebook assuming you are a masochist who loves being reminded of what a loser you were. All you have to do is:
1 Go to “Settings”
2. Click “Download a copy of your Facebook data”
3. Click “Start My Archive”
4. Facebook will now send you an email (usually within 5 minutes) with a link to download your archive
Follow the link and then download the archive:
5. Open the .zip file
6. And VOILA, files on files of things you don’t even really want to see past a cursory glance
According to Metro, the index.htm file is the page that Facebook has on you with all of your information. Mine has a bunch of random photos I don’t remember taking — how fucking exciting. So glad I downloaded this file of bullshit just to remind myself of what a loser I am. Fun!
