Here’s How To See The Hidden Locations Of Pokemon Around You In ‘Pokemon Go,’ Bypassing The 3 Footprint Indicator

The worst part about Pokemon Go (aside from the fact that it only works 50% of the time you open up the app) is having every Pokemon near you at a distance of 3 footprints with no indication of what direction you should walk if you wanted to catch, say, a Staryu instead of your 500th Pidgey. Luckily for us Pokemon Masters, a new app created by developers Braydon Batungbcal and Nick DiVona effectively eradicates this issue…assuming the people around you aren’t trolls.

Introducing Poke Radar, an app that lets you search for Pokemon anywhere in the world, aka anyplace within walking distance of your home because, let’s face it, you have a life and you’re not going to nab a plane ticket to Tokyo if you search and see a Red Gyarados swimming around over there (note: Red Gyarados is not available in Pokemon Go). According to LifeHacker, the map is powered in real-time by people playing Pokemon Go (kind of like how Waze relies on user input to alert others to stopped vehicles and etc.), however that also means that trolls can falsely report rare Pokemon in a variety of places. Batungbacal and DiVona, however, included a rating system to help users avoid getting…well, trolled:

When you click or tap on a pokémon’s icon, you’ll see who posted the tip, and how many other trainers found the tip helpful. If you see the same person posting hard-to-believe tips with low ratings, you know not waste your time looking for that Mewtwo. You’ll also see when a pokémon was caught so you know what time of day is best for your search.

In other words, no more hunting around for that 15th Eevee so you can finally get that Vaporeon you’ve always wanted (which, btw, someone figured out how to guarantee which evolution you wind up with instead of leaving it up to chance) instead of slogging through another 600 Rattata encounters.

You’ll still have to walk there, of course…unless you’re a piece of shit who drives.
