Over the past few months, 28-year-old Valeria Lukyanova has made all the rounds on weird news websites and Ripley‘s episodes for attempting to become a “Human Barbie.” Can you tell what she’s on to? It’s tough to tell sometimes.
Anyway, Lukyanova has done things as harmless as wearing tons of makeup to as potentially harmful as starving herself and getting breast implants. (No word yet on whether she’ll join California’s Blondie Bennett in receiving hypnotheraphy to become “brainless.” It might not be necessary.)
Valeria’s latest stunt, however, is really out of this world.
According to the International Business Times, Valeria intends to train herself to live on just light and air alone. That’s the diet! The Ukrainian claims she’s following a mysterious cult called Breatharianism, which advocates living without food or water (and surprisingly appears to have been around longer than 8 or 10 days), and she says her ability to survive on just “cosmic micro-food” has managed to shrink her waistline to 50 centimeters.
“In recent weeks I have not been hungry at all; I’m hoping it’s the final stage before I can subsist on air and light alone,” Valeria said.
Valeria also says she is a spiritual teacher who can speak with aliens through light. From IBT:
This is not the first time that Valeria declared something unusual. Valeria Lukyanova declared that she is a spiritual teacher and can speak with aliens through light. She also thinks that she was from another planet. Moreover, she thinks that has the ability to time travel and has had out-of-body experiences.
She refused to comment on the ramifications of eating her only way to talk to aliens.
