I Wonder If KFC Thinks This Giant Rat Filmed Scurrying Around In One Of Their Restaurants Is Finger Lickin’ Good

Whenever I eat fast food I make sure to keep my expectations low, and I mean low across the board – low in terms of food, low in terms of cleanliness, low in terms of the snaggletooth employee who probably spat in my food before sliding it to me across the counter – just don’t give me food poisoning, please.

With that in mind, would I still eat at the KFC where this giant rat was filmed scurrying around?

Eh, probably. If it were a Checker’s or Wendy’s then no, because I hold those heavenly burger spots in high esteem – KFC, not so much. Whenever I roll into the Colonel’s house I expect to see at least three rats in the kitchen, only one of which I figure has a 50/50 chance of accidentally getting fried and thrown into my box of “chicken.”

In the event that you’re less blasé than I am about food safety, the KFC featured in this video is the Shaftesbury Square KFC and despite its rat the location reportedly received a five-star hygiene rating during its last inspection. According to UTV.ie:

A statement from KFC said: “We take the hygiene of our restaurants extremely seriously; we are investigating this incident as a matter of the utmost importance and can confirm that the restaurant has no history of issues of this kind”.

Yeah right, this is KFC we’re talking about – hygiene isn’t exactly their middle name. Or their first. Or last. Or, really anywhere in their vocabulary for that matter either.
