Usually Facebook comment sections are where my brain cells go to commit suicide, but thanks to the folks over at Happy Place today my brain cells are alive, well, and very happy. That’s because they introduced me to this Facebook thread over on Humans of New York.
You see, the thread began when one wonderful woman (pictured above) voiced her thoughts on sharing the same name of someone famous: Beyonce.
“Sometimes I hate my name because it always draws attention to me, and I’m not a very social person. My family moved this year from Pennsylvania. I was so scared the first day of school that someone would notice me. I wouldn’t even adjust my seat because I thought it would make a noise. One time I really had to cough, but I held it in. When the teacher started calling attendance, I got really nervous, because every time people learn my name is Beyoncé, somebody starts singing ‘Single Ladies.’ And some did, of course. But the second day of school wasn’t too bad. Because everyone knew my name.”
That was all it took for other people with celebrity and/or odd names to come out of the woodwork and tell their stories which are all just so entertaining.
It goes on and on like this and provides an endless amount of fun (especially if you read the replies).
Finally, something on Facebook we can all agree to enjoy.
