After millions of votes from Dew Nation, Mountain Dew has listened to both sides of the argument to determine its newest flavor during DEWcision 2016, and the winner is: PITCH BLACK!

For those who may be unfamiliar with DEWcision 2016, Mountain Dew engaged the nation in a passionate debate between two separate flavors, PITCH BLACK and BAJA BLAST, allowing fans to vote for their favorite through the help of social media and online challenges. After months of debate on the topics that matter most, PITCH BLACK won the DEWcision by less than a half percent after almost six million votes.
What’s that mean? PITCH BLACK will no longer live in fear of being kept in the dark. According to the official Mountain Dew release, “PITCH BLACK will become a permanent member of the MTN DEW retail lineup, making its debut on shelves this September.” Here’s a description of the new flavor, because, hell yeah, you want to try it.

MTN DEW PITCH BLACK is a bold flavor of DEW with a twist of citrus and dark fruit flavor, which was first released in October 2004 as a limited-edition Halloween flavor. It was resurrected in the summer of 2011 as part of the “Back by Popular DEWmand” program and, earlier this year, became exclusively available via fountain at Speedway stores nationwide.
Come September, it’ll be everywhere. Gas stations, supermarkets, your face. The people have spoken. There must be a reason why.
