Nature Defeats Man: For The First Time Since 1974, No Human Summited Mount Everest

For pretty much the entire 20th century, man dominated nature. We built steamers to transverse the oceans, planes to cross the skies, and pollutants to destroy Gaia’s will to exist.

In the 21st century, though, the planet is fighting back. Mega hurricanes, super volcanoes, and astounding climate swings, all in an attempt to make the world inhospitable to us.

Mother Nature just claimed another victory. For the first time in over 40 years, no person summited her highest peak. Fuck y’all, ya bitches, the Earth is saying. Everest is mine, not yours.

She didn’t just make the top unreachable, either. She made the entire mountain her domain.

Last year also saw the highest death toll ever on earth’s highest mountain (8,848m), with as many as 24 people killed in a single day in April when a 7.8 earthquake struck Nepal causing a huge avalanche. It is the deadliest day in Everest history, surpassing the day in April 2014 when 16 were killed by an avalanche.

Two years in a row of death mercking fools who try to climb her. Good luck next year, humans. I don’t have high hopes for you.
