Officer Placed On Administrative Leave After Video Surfaces Of Him Viciously Body Slamming 15-Year-Old Girl

A 15-year-old high school female has a concussion after being body slammed to the ground by a school resource officer after she was reportedly trying to break up a fight.

The incident occurred at Rolesville High School in Rolesville, North Carolina and was caught on tape by a fellow student, who then uploaded it to Twitter. Although the video doesn’t show what led up to the scene, it is believed that Jasmine Darwin was slammed to the ground after trying to remove her sister from a physical altercation.

Ruben De Los Santos, whose worked at the high school since 2013, was placed on administrative leave after the video gained national attention. Aisha Nasser, a student who witnessed the incident and came to De Los Santos’ defense, calling him “one of the kindest officers” she’s ever come across, according to Complex.

“Seeing the whole situation first hand it was out of control and he was just trying to gain control of the situation and I know it wasn’t his intention to hurt that girl,” Nasser told ABC11

This is exactly why I can never work in schools with high school kids who have yet to learn proper decorum and whose puberty hormones often make them irrational. Last week I got on a subway car with a group of high schoolers going on a field trip and it was a better form of birth control than getting my tubes tied. In that same vein, I can understand how it would be very difficult to use the acceptable amount of force when the world is burning around you. But if I’m speaking from my high horse, this dude needs to go home and hit a punching bag or something to release some of that built up rage.
