OK, OK, OK… Before you get up-in-arms about this as a waste of taxpayer resources for the militarization of the police, let’s get one thing out of the way: SFPD’s three amphibious quadskis are a gift from Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff, according to SFist. Because what police department doesn’t love getting ATVs that turn into jet skis!
Yesterday during a Giants game, cameras caught police “patrolling” via quadski in McCovey Cove by AT&T Park. THESE LOOK SO FREAKING COOL:

#sfpd. I’m sure the cops will say they were zipping around Mission Bay on important police business but looked fun. pic.twitter.com/tPxlRxgfSq — C.W. Nevius (@cwnevius) July 26, 2015
It’s like David Hasselhoff from Baywatch meets Michael Bay’s Transformers meets Robocop. What a ridiculous vehicle for law enforcement to own. Gizmodo notes that SFPD’s model is probably the Quadski XL and retails $50,000. They’ve already received the Jeremy Clarkson treatment, too:
I want one so bad.
