How Listening To The Serial Podcast Will Serial-ously Help You Get Laid

If you haven’t at least heard of the Serial podcast by now then it’s safe for us to assume you’ve been on a walkabout with Mick Dundee. At no point in the history of podcasts and murder has something captivated American audiences quite like NPR’s Serial Podcast…it’s infectious.

I recently finished a 21-hour drive from NYC down to Florida, and used the time to catch up all twelve episodes of the Serial podcast, and holy shit was it worth it. But I’m not here to talk about how great a podcast is, dafuq do I care whether or not you like or listen to a podcast? No, I’m here to tell you that listening to the Serial podcast can and will get you laid.

In my opinion, one of the most important keys to picking up women is to find ways to relate to them and keep that conversation going. Someone told me this waaayyyyyy back when I was in high school and for whatever reason it stuck with me. But what does that mean exactly? Well, in practice it means things like occasionally reading the front page of PEOPLE Magazine or Perez Hilton, just so you have the slightest idea as to what is going on in the magazines (and websites) being marketed to the other gender…in addition to that you also need to keep up with your NYT, and The Economist. Getting laid is typically not easy, and you’re going to need to put in the work to keep abreast of current events, you want to be able to talk about anything and everything (at least on a surface level).

Which brings me back to the Serial podcast. It’s currently the #1 most downloaded podcast in iTunes, everyone from SNL to FunnyOrDie has been lampooning it, and it’s quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon that very soon even your parents will be talking about.

So it stands to reason that the fairer sex is also listening to this podcast, and that’s something you’re going to NEED to be able to talk about if you’re looking to knock the boots. Because once you jump into the shallow end of the Serial podcast, you’ll notice that it’s not something you can just passively listen to, it will suck you and and you’ll quickly become absorbed by the story of Adnan Syed.

When it comes to your libido you simply cannot choose to ignore cultural phenomenon as popular as the Serial podcast…if you want to hold a conversation with some chick at a bar, or on a first date, I’m willing to bet there’s a greater than 33% chance that the Serial podcast comes up (right now).

And I know it sounds oddly perverse, that being able to discuss a murder trial would actually increase your chances of getting laid…That talking about a man in jail and a murdered high school girl would somehow be a GOOD THING…but here we are. We’re living in a world where the Serial podcast just made every listener think that s/he has what it takes to be a trial lawyer.

But, if you’re not going to listen and need to be able to discuss it on the simplest of levels, here’s everything you need to know. WARNING: Spoilers ahead

Adnand Syed was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend Hay Lee.
The two went to school together at a magnet program for gifted students in Baltimore.
Adnand’s lawyer may or may not have thrown his initial case in order to make more money on the appeal, it’s unclear.
The ONLY evidence against Adnand is his friend Jay’s testimony.
Jay worked at a porn shop and was a known liar, and was also the only person who knew where Hay Lee’s car was after she went missing.
If you listen to this podcast you WILL come to believe that Jay was involved in some way, and Adnand was not.
The show is narrated by Sarah Koenig, and in general nobody has anything bad to say about her at all.

So, there you have it, everything you need to know from the Serial podcast in order to get laid….now go read the Entertainment section on BroBible and you’ll have all the tools you need to hold an entire conversation without talking about how you just missed out on the fantasy football playoffs.

You can check out the Serial podcast HERE on their website, or in the iTunes store.

And as for those parodies I mentioned earlier, here’s FunnyOrDie’s:
