Teenager In Virginia Arrested After Trying To Hire A Clown To Murder One Of Her Teachers

Seriously, can we stop with the creepy clowns? Please? They’re causing panic on college campuses, freaking out runners, stalking models and now, apparently, people are trying to hire them to actually kill people.

At least that was the case in Hampton, Virginia, according to this report filed by WAVY-TV

A 13-year-old Hampton girl is in police custody for allegedly reaching out to a person on social media to kill one of her teachers.

Police say the person she contacted was using a clown image as their profile picture. She allegedly reached out to this person to murder a teacher at Davis Middle School.

“The profile that she contacted actually was using a clown as a profile picture and so using a clown related alias,” Officer Ashley Jenrette of Hampton Police said.

According to police, a dispatcher received a call Sunday evening about a threat being made on social media, and the investigation resulted in the teen’s arrest.

What makes this even more creepy is that there were other clown-related threats made on social media in the area that police had already investigated prior to this situation.

WHO-TV published a letter that had been sent out to parents of Davis Middle School, the school the girl was attending…

Dear Davis Middle School Parents/Guardians:

This is Ms. Whiteman, principal of Davis Middle School. In an effort to share accurate information, I would like to provide you with the following facts. Last night, a Davis Middle School student was arrested for making a threat on social media against one of our teachers. No one has been harmed, and the student is in a secured detention facility. At this time, there is no evidence to indicate a threat against others.

Please know that we have taken measures to ensure the continued safety of our students and staff. As a precaution, there will be increased officer presence throughout the day at our school.

Thank you for your support in creating a safe environment for our students, staff and visitors.

The 13-year-old girl was charged with one count of Threatening to Kill by Electronic Message and is still in custody.
