This past weekend was homecoming at the University of Maryland, which meant I got drunk in a parking lot and then acted as sober as possible when I went to watch the game with my family. Still slightly drunk after the game ended, we loaded ourselves into the car when “Bad” by David Guetta and Showtek came onto the XM:
“Is this Alvin and the Chipmunks?” my Dad asked my brother and I with a straight face, and because I am a drunk asshole my immediate response was “Yes, they’re making a comeback and supposed to be playing at the Grammy’s this year.”
Point is, parents don’t catch onto pop culture shit very quickly, and more often than not it’s amusing. Case in point? This girl named “Beka” who responded to her Mom’s texts exclusively with lyrics from Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda”:
