Do you like to get high man? Like, real high man? Because starting in 2019, you’ll be able to get really high, man, at Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s far West Side, which will feature a massive observation deck 1,100 feet in the air. That’s 50+ feet higher than the Empire state building’s observation deck/tourist destination on 34th Street. Via the NY Post:
The deck will be 1,100 feet in the air and stretch more than 5,000 square feet, boasting spectacular 360-degree views of Manhattan and beyond, said Joanna Rose, a spokeswoman for the Related Companies, which is developing a 27-acre development complex on Manhattan’s Far West Side.
Related expects several million visitors a year to its observation deck, which will be a part of the 92-story skyscraper 30 Hudson Yards, the fourth-tallest building in the city when completed in 2019.
That’s going to be a ridiculous view of Manhattan. On top of that, there’s going to be a “thrill-seeking” element, which I assume is a glass floor that gives you sweaty palms when you stand on it.
The deck will have something for adrenaline junkies, too — a “thrill seeking element” — the details of which are still being worked out, a Related executive said on a tour of the construction site on Thursday.
Nope! Nope! Nope! I’ve seen too many of those Russian parkour videos to ever actually enjoy that.
