This Philadelphia Brewery Is Aging It’s Beer To The Music Of The Wu-Tang Clan

Dock Street Brewery in West Philadelphia is currently aging their new golden saison with the music of the Wu-Tang Clan playing continuously next to the barrel for the next six months.

Head brewer Vince Desrosiers talked to Philly Mag about why he chose to brew his beer with Wu-Tang playing in the background.

“I listen to music every day in the brewery and I’ve wanted to do a series of beers based on the music I like,” Desrosiers says. “It’s hardly an original thought but my musical taste is all over the place and Wu Tang seemed like a great place to start.”

“It started as a joke,” Desrosiers says, “and then we wondered if the bass would cause enough vibration to move the yeast around and create some different flavors during fermentation.”

The beer will have a spicy pineapple and orange-tart flavor and will be released some time later this year according to Desroisers.

The brewery is already planning to age it’s next beer with the music of Run the Jewels. Here’s hoping that a G-Unit version is in the works.
