Dear God, Tomi Lahren’s ‘Black Lives Matter’ Take Is Hotter Than Dousing Yourself In Gasoline And Lighting A Match

Tomi Lahren is like a perpetual hot take machine that defies the laws of thermodynamics, with each of her opinions becoming louder, wronger, and also somehow more scorching than the U.S. Air Force dropping napalm on a burning building in Death Valley in the summer.

It’s impressive really.

But today she may have (definitely, if we are being honest) went to far. Now, people are calling for her to be fired.

In a deleted tweet, she said the Black Lives Matter movement is the new KKK. That’s right, she said the movement that is dedicated to defending the lives of black people is now actually the movement whose sole goal is killing black people.

Funny how these things work!

(God, I would love to look inside her brain one day and see the empty funhouse of mirrors it is, where one thing comes in and out is refracted the most distorted thing possible. “We’re having apple pie for dessert? 9/11 made Barack Obama happy.”)

Here’s her since deleted tweet. “Meet the new KKK, they call themselves ‘Black Lives Matter’ but make no mistake their goals are far from equality. #Dallas #bluelivesmatter.”

The Ku Klux Klan was (and still is) one of the worst organizations in American history, a shameful part of our past, and had no objective other than the complete subjugation of African Americans. It is because of things like the KKK, still ingrained in parts of American society, that we need movements like Black Lives Matter. To make ourselves confront our past.

And abhorrent as the instances of violence in Dallas and other locations are, the Black Lives Matter is not the KKK.

Tomi Petty, though, won’t back down. She went on CNN and said this.

“I’m allowed to have my feelings and my opinions and I stand behind the things that I say because the thing that hurts people the most is when you’re honest.”

Especially when you are honestly wrong.

She went on to say it’s okay for her to say these things because she’s a commentator.

Here is a GIF that I think perfectly represents Tomi’s logic.

Yea.
