Back in May, former Tucson news reporter Krystin Sorich Lisaius and her husband Som took their infant child to the hospital after she became lethargic one morning.
When doctors wanted to draw blood from the baby, the couple was initially reluctant to let them do so.
That’s because, according to Oro Valley Police, they’d spent the night before doing cocaine. When the baby’s blood was finally tested, it contained cocaine. After searching the couple’s house, they found almost two grams of blow, and the couple admitted to using the drug the night before.
Now, the couple face three felony charges for their action: One count of child abuse to a person; one count of possession of narcotics; and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The two pled not guilty on Monday, and were released on their own recognizance. The baby is currently being cared for by the Department of Child Safety.
Unrelated, Krystin is a former Miss Arizona contestant. Here she is at a monster truck rally.
And here she is riding a horse.
