Video Emerges Of Cop Kicking Handcuffed Man In The Face During Arrest

A troubling video has come out of Georgia where a police officer kicked a handcuffed man in the face. Cell phone video reveals the moment that an officer from the Gwinnett County Police Department stomped a suspect’s head as he lay on his stomach in the middle of the road.

The first police officer is struggling to search the pockets of the suspect and requests help by a fellow officer. At the 43-sceond-mark of the video, a second cop runs into the picture. As soon as he reaches the suspect, identified as Demetrius Bryan Hollins, he kicks the handcuffed man in the face. Both officers then put the suspect in the backseat of their police cruiser.

From AJC:

Online records show he was booked into the Gwinnett County jail around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday on charges including possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, obstruction of a police officer and several traffic citations, including driving on a suspended or revoked license, operating a vehicle with suspended or revoked registration, failure to signal and “brake lights required.”

The man’s mugshot shows blood on his nose and lips. As of Thursday morning, Hollins remained in jail in lieu of $7,502 bond.

A spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County police declined to comment on the disturbing video when the New York Daily News reached out to them on Wednesday. The spokeswoman said she was “not familiar” with the incident.
