Virginia Senator Proposing Law That Would Make Oral Sex Between Teens a Felony

Now another Virginia politician wants to legislate what goes on in the bedroom. And it went so well for Cuccinelli!

This champ is Thomas Garrett, a state senator who vowed to go “further right” than anyone else when mandating who you can and can't screw. Garrett has introduced a bill that would make it a felony for two high schoolers to round third base.

UCLA law professor Eugene Volokh pointed out one ridiculous inconsistency that comes with the law, via the Huffington Post:

Well, Virginia law provides that genital sex with a 15-to-17-year-old is a misdemeanor, and sex among 15-to-17-year-olds is perfectly legal. So if two 17-year-olds are choosing whether to have oral sex or genital sex, the law would push them towards the form of sex that is more likely to transmit disease, and more likely to cause unwanted pregnancy. Genius.

Attorneys told the Huffington Post they didn't see how this law could hold up for long. But still: 2014, guys. This shit is still going on in 2014.
