Need a little help with the ladies? Who doesn’t? Well, according to science there is a pretty good chance that you are probably not doing these two things they claim turn women on.
Why do I say that? Because I would have never imagined these would be two things that women actually like.
According to a compilation of studies put together by the New York Post here is what you should be doing…
1. Frowning (or as they call it, a furrowed eyebrow)
A study published in Evolution and Human Behaviour found men who displayed the “Dark Triad” features of narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy are more attractive to women.
That seems like a slight cause for concern — but it is all to do with the perception of social success.
Of the three traits, narcissism is most clearly associated with social success and physical and psychological health benefits in men.
2. Sweat
While most men might be quick to jump in the shower to wash off that post-workout aroma, it turns out it is actually quite a turn-on.
A study published in the Journal of Neuroscience found women were sexually aroused, had faster heartbeats and increased levels of the stress hormone cortisol when they smelled male sweat.
Researchers found that the chemical androstadienone — a compound found in male sweat and an additive in perfumes and colognes — changed mood, sexual arousal, physiological arousal and brain activation in women.
The Post also goes on to mention other traits that women consider to be turn-ons, according to science.
They include creativity and intelligence, stubble, a deep voice, the smell of gas and leather, clean sheets, and an attractive name.
Most of those make some sort of sense. Unfortunately, unless you want to use a fake name there isn’t much you can do about the last one.
Still, who would have ever thought that showing up sweaty with a frown on your face would help you attract women? Way to go science!
