The College World Series is inching closer to the championship finals. To this point, Coastal Carolina and LSU are in the driver’s seat.
Both the Chanticleers and Tigers are a perfect 2-0 to start the tournament in Omaha. They’ve set themselves up in the winner’s bracket while others attempt to avoid elimination.

Home runs haven’t played much of a role. Charles Schwab Field often plays big. It’s a pitchers’ park with deep alleys and a massive foul ground territory. Swirling winds can also play a part in knocking flyballs down to prevent them from leaving the ballpark.
Through the first nine completed games, seven home runs were hit (0.78 HR/G). That number is down from a regular season average of 1.17 homers per game set seen last year.
It’s tough to hit dingers at the College World Series. These players made sure to leave no doubt with record-setting long balls. Here are the 10 longest HRs on record at the CWS.
Ty Evans - Florida Gators (423 ft)

Ty Evans is one of four Florida Gators on this list. His long ball came in the 2023 College World Series during a game against SEC rival LSU. The bomb flew 423 feet over the leftfield wall in the second inning of the contest.
Evans, just a sophomore at the time, hit .239 that season with nine home runs. He made sure this one counted.
Pete Alonso - Florida Gators (425 ft)

Pete Alonso is best known for his time in the bigs with the New York Mets, but before reaching the MLB, he was a Florida Gator. Alonso helped the program reach the College World Series in 2016.
During a game against Texas Tech, he hit a ninth-inning blast 425 feet over the leftfield fence. It was one of 14 home runs hit during a junior season in which he recorded a .374 batting average.
Brendan McKay - Louisville Cardinals (428 ft)

Brendan McKay is the lone non-SEC player on this list. He recorded his moonshot homer in 2017 with the Louisville Cardinals. That bomb came during a game against TCU, traveling 428 feet to right-centerfield.
McKay was a dual threat with the Cards. In his final season, he hit .341 with 18 home runs while posting an 11-3 record on the mound. He was drafted No. 4 overall by Tampa Bay.
Pete Alonso - Florida Gators (429 ft)

Alonso makes his second appearance on this list, though this 429-foot dinger came a year before his previously mentioned bomb. In 2015, Alonso again helped the Gators reach the College World Series.
His second-inning blast in a game vs. Virginia ranks as the 6th longest HR on record. The first baseman hit .301 with five home runs as a sophomore at Florida.
Edouard Julien - Auburn Tigers (429 ft)

Edouard Julien tied Pete Alonso’s 429-foot home run distance four years later in 2019. The Auburn infielder spent two seasons with the Tigers, hitting 27 homers.
He helped the program reach its first College World Series field in more than two decades in ’19. His record-setting blast came in second inning of a matchup with SEC rival Mississippi State, sailing beyond the wall in rightfield.
BT Riopelle - Florida Gators (435 ft)

Another Florida Gator, BT Riopelle recorded the first 430-foot home run at the College World Series in 2023 during a game against LSU. The catcher hit a ball 435 feet out of Charles Schwab Field in the ninth inning of that contest.
The homer, which left the park in centerfield, was one of 19 Riopelle hit in his senior season, and one of three the backstop cranked that year in Omaha.
Brady Slavens - Arkansas Razorbacks (436 ft)

Brady Slavens held the title of longest College World Series on record for just one season before seeing three others top him on the list. The Arkansas Razorback smacked a 436-foot blast to dead centerfield against conference foe Ole Miss in 2022 to set a new mark.
That fifth-inning bomb was one of 16 the infielder hit in his 2022 season. He also added 58 RBIs while batting .255 for the Hogs that spring.
Christian Moore - Tennessee Vols (440 ft)

Tennessee’s Christian Moore had the longest home run of the 2024 College World Series, hitting a ball 440 feet to dead center field. That dinger not only helped the Vols continue on a national championship run, but it also allowed him to complete the cycle.
The incredible performance came in a win over Florida State, with the homer being hit in the sixth frame. He went 5-for-6 in the game with four extra-base hits.
Wyatt Langford - Florida Gators (449 ft)

Wyatt Langford owns both the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on this list, with those record-setting blasts coming just days apart. The first came in a matchup vs. Virginia in 2023. The second was a little over a week later vs. LSU.
Langford’s 449-foot homer against the Tigers came in the sixth inning of a national title series and reached the pavilion beyond the leftfield wall. It was an almost identical landing spot to the next home run on this list.

Langford smashed a no-doubt bomb 456 feet during a 2023 game vs. Virginia. The home run still stands as the longest on record at the College World Series.
The moonshot blast came in the ninth inning of that matchup vs. the Cavaliers. It helped the Gators reach the CWS finals, which Florida lost to LSU.
