The College World Series field is set following Monday night’s contest between Murray State and Duke. There will be a number of new names playing in Omaha next week sprinkled in with some baseball blue bloods.

Eight schools will soon battle for a national championship on the diamond. They’ll be able to add to their running totals of College World Series appearances.

Only two of those teams rank among the Top 11 college baseball programs with the most appearances in Omaha.

Below is a list of those frequent flyers. Included are a trio of schools from the Sunshine State, a few California powerhouses, and the top dog from the Southwest.

The Florida Gators have made 14 College World Series fields with the last coming in 2024. They’ve been one of the most successful teams of the last decade when it comes to advancing through the postseason.

Florida has appeared in Omaha six times over the last 10 seasons, and nine times since 2010. The Gators won a national title in 2017 and have finished runners-up on three separate occasions.

Cal State Fullerton has a storied history of baseball success, leading to 18 appearances in the College World Series. They’ve appeared in five national title games, winning four championships.

Success has fallen off a bit as of late. The Titans last made the field in Omaha in 2017 with their last title coming in 2004. Between 1999-2009, they appeared in seven College World Series events.

The Arizona Wildcats booked what will be their 19th College World Series appearance this year by beating North Carolina in a Super Regional. Despite being blown out in Game 1 of the double elimination set, they emerged victorious with back-to-back wins in Chapel Hill.

Before advancing this season, Arizona last made it to Omaha in 2021. They’ve won four national championships with the last coming in 2012.

The Stanford Cardinal have made 19 College World Series fields, including back-to-back-to-back trips between 2021 and 2023. Unfortunately, they’ve failed to advance to the championship round over the last two decades.

The Cardinal last played for a national title in 2003, one of three occasions in which they finished as runners-up. The program’s last championship came in 1988.

LSU Tigers

LSU, alongside Arizona, is one of the two teams on this list to make the 2025 College World Series field. The Tigers will be playing in Omaha for the 20th time after taking down West Virginia in a Super Regional.

LSU owns the second-most national championships in the sport with seven. Their last came in 2023 with a team boasting the likes of Paul Skenes and Dylan Crews, the top two picks in the ’23 MLB Draft.

Oklahoma State Cowboys

Oklahoma State was a team that dominated the 1950s and 1960s. Between 1954 and 1968, they made eight College World Series fields. They then re-established themselves in the 1980s and 1990s by adding 11 more appearances.

The Cowboys haven’t been able to get over the hump as of late. They’ve made it to Omaha just once since the turn of the century. The program’s lone championship came in 1959, though it has finished as a runner-up five times.

USC Trojans

USC is another team that was once dominant but has failed to achieve success in the 21st century. The Trojans own a nation-best 12 College World Series titles, and they’ve made 21 appearances in Omaha.

The last trip to the College World Series, however, came in 2001. They’ve made just three NCAA Tournament fields over the last two decades. The Trojans did compete in the postseason this year but fell to Oregon State in the Regional round.

Arizona State has appeared in 22 College World Series fields with the last coming in 2010. Like the two teams listed before them, success has been harder to come by following strings of dominance.

The Sun Devils racked up 15 of their 22 appearances between 1964-1988. They have not been to Omaha since 2010. They do, however, own five national championships and five more second-place finishes.

Florida State Seminoles

Florida State has the unfortunate honor of “Most College World Series Appearances Without A Title.” The Seminoles have made it to Omaha 24 times, third-most in the sport. They’ve been beaten three times in the championship game.

Florida State was a game away from making their 25th appearance this season before dropping back-to-back contests to Oregon State in a Super Regional. The school will not bring home its first title this year.

Miami Hurricanes

Another team from the Sunshine State comes in at No. 2 in the Miami Hurricanes. The program’s made 25 College World Series fields with the last coming in 2016.

Miami has won four national championships and has two runner-up finishes. They were one win away from booking their 26th trip before falling to ACC rival Louisville in a Super Regional.

Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns are far and away the top team on this list. They are the only program with more than 30 College World Series appearances, entering this year with 38.

This was expected to be trip No. 39 after the Longhorns won the SEC and landed a No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately, they were bounced from the Regional round after dropping back-to-back games to UTSA.

Texas won the last of its six championships in 2005. They’ve also finished runner-up six times.
