It seemed like Mitch Trubisky’s time as a starting quarterback in the NFL may have come to an end when the Chicago Bears didn’t pick up his 5th-year option and he joined the Buffalo Bills as a backup. However, the stars may be aligning for him to get another crack at a starting job.

There are quite a few teams around the league right now with uncertainty at the quarterback position. That coupled with a number of questions about the QB talent available in this year’s draft could open the door for Trubisky.

According to NFL analyst, Jordan Schultz, there are currently 3 teams interested in signing Mitch Trubisky.

It would be interesting to see what Trubisky could accomplish as the starting QB for any of these teams. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders both seem tailor-made for a quarterback to step in and succeed. They have plenty of offensive talent and defenses that should be able to keep Trubisky from having to win shootouts.

It wouldn’t be difficult to picture Trubisky seeing success similar to his 2018 season with the Bears if he joined either of these teams. He’d just have to hope for some better kicking.

The Saints are a little bit of a trickier situation. That offense pretty much just has Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara and they both have some big question marks coming into the season.

Kamara is facing legal trouble after his brawl in Vegas. Michael Thomas just dealt with an ankle injury for just about all of the last 2 seasons and we don’t know if he’ll be the same player when he returns.

Wherever he lands, it will be interesting to see if Trubisky can establish himself as an NFL starter after such a disappointing ending to his time with the Chicago Bears.
